This morning, the folks at Pied Piper Management Company released their annual Pied Piper Prospect Satisfaction Index (P.S.I.) U.S. Auto Industry Benchmarking Study and Mercedes Benz Dealers came out on top.

(For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the folks at Pied Piper, Pied Piper Management Company LLC is a nine year old Monterey, California, company that develops and runs sales and marketing programs to maximize the performance of dealer networks. For more info, you can head to their website: www.piedpipermc.com. )

Each year, Pied Piper conducts a benchmarking study to measure how effectively dealerships for each brand help car shoppers become car buyers, and for this year's study, Mercedes-BENZ dealerships ranked number one. Pied Piper indicated that it was the two factors below that drove Mercedes-BENZ dealerships to the top spot:

-Treatment of car shoppers improves industry-wide;
- New highest industry average PSI score

In determining which brands ranked highest, Pied Piper measured not only sales numbers, but also mystery shopping of each brands dealership.

Acura, Infiniti, and Lexus, the luxury brands from Honda, Nissan and Toyota, respectively, all came in tied with each other at second. The overall good news, however, is that there was a widespread improvement for all brands across the automotive industry. Obviously, this is great news for each brand, but it also will correlate with customers receiving a better experience at the dealership.
