Thanks, James! I've had bosses say the exact same thing...Isn't amazing how much sense those things make now....Those old farts actually knew what they were talking about! The 'front end' gross is only a portion of the value of the transaction, but we have become addicted to that number at the expense of the 'rest' of the story! The vehicles are not bottles of wine, the DO NOT increase in value with age. They are more like milk...You had better do SOMETHING with them before they spoil!
Good stuff Danny. I always like the old adage "The first deal is usually the best deal". I worked for a major dealer group years that owned more than 50 stores. I was lucky enough to meet the owner one Sunday afternoon. I was working the desk and buzzed in almost unnoticed. After a few pleasantries he looked at me and said "James you see all those cars out there? I am not in love with any of them!" Made a profound impact on me. Buy your vehicle, make your profit and buy another simple as that. Thanks Danny
